Indonesian film industry has shown excellent improvement, in terms of
quantity and quality, characterized by the increasing numbers of
national film production, also their success in the many international
film festivals as stated by Deputy Minister Sapta Nirwandar at Bangun
Lagi Dong Lupus premiere at Planet Hollywood (4/1).
“The creativity of our young generation is inexhaustible. Obviously
Bangun Lagi Dong Lupus by Benni Setiawan is one among the many,” said
Sapta prior to the premiere.
Sapta praised the contemporary element and the moral value presented
in the movie. “The movie came out with fresher color and, in my
opinion, by excellent art director,” he added.
Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture, Windu Nuryanti added that the
film Bangun Lagi Dong Lupus marked the revival of Indonesian films
themed of national character building. “We are proud to these ever
better qualified films by our cinematographers. Hopefully, more and more
producers are encouraged to make more quality movies,” said Windu.
Minister of Youth and Sports Roy Suryo expressed his admiration for
this particular work of Komando Pictures led by Eko ‘Patrio’. Lupus (the
movie) was last aired at around 22 years ago. “We are proud to say
that our young cinematographers succeeded in bringing this movie back
to live to depict the daily lives of the people of Indonesia,” said
Roy.
Bangun Lagi Dong Lupus tells the life of a young boy named Lupus who
lived with his mother and sister named Lulu. Lupus has two best friends
named Boim and Gusur, and girlfriend Popie. The story begins with
Lupus days at his new school, SMA Merah Putih, where he faces problems
in school life and romance.
Another cast of the movie, Deddy Mizwar said “It felt good to be on scene with young actors. I feel young again.”
Film’s producer Eko Hendro Purnomo, more popularly named Eko
‘Patrio’, extended his as the expressed his admiration for the
opportunity to produce this popular movie of his time. “I am grateful to
all those who support the pre-, during, and post-production of this
