In order to pay more attention and care to the people with autism, Riau provincial government will build the Autism Center in Pekanbaru. The development of Autism Center will use the fund sharing between the central government and the provincial government of Riau.
Riau Governor HM Rusli Zainal said that people with autism should be empowered. Everyone has to give moral support to people with autism, as children with special needs, and they should be given the motivation to build confidence and independent living.
He said that all this time the government’s attention towards people with autism is quite high. It is marked from the Riau provincial government support for the existence of forums coaching for children with autism, one of which is the Forum for Children with Autism (F-PAPA) in Riau Province.
Meanwhile, Chairman G_PAPA Riau, Septina Primawati Rusli said the commemoration of World Autism is classified as a special time. In Riau, hundreds of children with autism to follow leisurely hike in the car free day in Diponegoro street inaugurated by Riau Governor Rusli Zainal HM.
