National exam results from photocopied sheets will be done professionally: Govt

Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Musliar Kasim gave assurance on Tuesday that the transfer of answers from photocopied sheets to the computerized system would be conducted professionally by the National Exam committee.
The committee decided to photocopy the answer sheets due to shortages following chaos in the distribution of the national exam material for high school students.
“We guarantee the transfers will be done independently and professionally,” said Musliar said in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), as quoted by the Antara news agency on Tuesday.
Musliar made the statements in a discussion with Kupang Mayor Jonas Salean, NTT Exam Committee head Frans Umbu Data and Kupang Education and Sports Office head Jerhans Adolf Ledoh.
His remarks were intended mainly to respond to worries from a number of circles, especially students who took the national exams using the photocopied answer sheets.
According to Musliar, the transfer of the answers from the photocopied sheets would be carried out by the National Exam committee's provincial chapter with involvement from representatives of local universities.
Data from the NTT education and sports office said 6,943 senior high school students took part in the exams, including those from vocational schools. (nai
