Indonesia Wins Best National Stand Concept



National award for Best Stand Concept was given to the National Tourism  Group Indonesia in the 12th Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair (AITF) in Baku, on 4-6 April 2013. Indonesia Stand featuring Bali tourism areas and other parts of Indonesia. Indonesia Stand also introduced angklung which received a lot of attention from the visitors. Indonesia Stand also received attention and was visited by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, Abulfaz Garayev.
AITF is organized by ITE Group and Iteca Caspian is an activity which is the main exhibition area of ​​tourism in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus region. Implementation of AITF also supported partly by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and the United Nations World Tourism Organization. AITF this year followed by 203 companies (travel agents, hotels, airlines, tourism development agency, Embassy) from 32 countries.
Participants were coordinated by the Indonesian Embassy in Baku this year include the Asian Collection Tour, Look Asia Holidays Bali, Elijah Tour and Travel, and Hotel Mulia Bali. On the sidelines of the AITF also held a business meeting between Indonesian participants with the travel agent representatives in Baku and Qatar Airways as an effort to boost tourist arrivals from Azerbaijan to Indonesia.
Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Prayono Atiyanto expect support relevant to stakeholders in Indonesia to be able to continue to promote Indonesian tourism in Azerbaijan. For Indonesia, Azerbaijan with a population of 9.2 million which has a wealth of oil and gas as well as advanced economies in the Southern Caucasus region may be one of the non-traditional target market for Indonesian tourism industry.
